Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick’s are creamy, pencil lipstick crayons available in ten shades. Let me start by saying I LOVE these lip crayons, they’re almost everything I look for in a product and they’re also affordable at $9.95 AUD each. These “lipsticks” as Maybelline calls them, are what I would class as lip pencil like lipsticks that have the precision you’d expect in a lip liner, but the creaminess you’d look for in a lipstick. The formula is dreamy. Creamy and moisturising without being thick and heavy, these glide onto the lips with absolute ease. I’m someone with super dry lips so products that hydrate the lips and don’t cling onto or accentuate dry, flaky patches is super important and I was pleased to find that these lipstick crayons fit that description to a tee. In terms of pigmentation, these are AH-mazing. 9 out of the 10 shades give perfect, full colour coverage in just one swipe and look almost identical on the lips as they do in the tube (at least for me anyway) The staying power is pretty amazing too. Whilst I found that some of the shades had a slight tendency to feather/bleed (probably because of the creaminess of the product) I was able to go about my day like usual. The only time I ran into some issues was when eating meals, but that’s to be expected. Most of the shades have fabulous staying power and look fresh up until the eight out mark. Overall I LOVE, these lipstick crayons. The combination of the creaminess, pigmentation, price, staying power and lipstick + liner effect makes them a real winner for me. I only wish they were available worldwide.

Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick Lip Crayon Swatches 110 Pink So Chic, 120 Love My Pink, 140 Minimalist, 150 Fuchsia Desire, 310 Berry Much, 410 Fab Orange, 420 In With Coral, 510 Red Essential, 520 Light It Up, 630 Nude Perfection
110 Pink So Chic is a mauvey, cool toned plum shade with no shimmer. This shade would look best on fair and deep skintones.
120 Love My Pink is a pretty, pale, barbie pink shade with no shimmer. This shade would look best on light to medium skintones.
140 Minimalist is a pinky nude with heavy shimmer. This shade had a much drier formula than the others in the range and had a tendency to apply unevenly. This shade could be worn by all skintones, but I’m not a big fan of it.
150 Fuchsia Desire is a gorgeous, bright fuchsia pink with no shimmer. This shade would compliment all skintones, especially very fair and very deep.
310 Berry Much is a beautiful deep, rosy berry shade with no shimmer. This shade is very similar, in fact almost identical to Pink So Chic. It would flatter all skintones, especially light to medium.
410 Fab Orange is a bright, orange shade with just a hint of red. This shade has no shimmer and would look amazing on all skintones, especially fair and deep.
420 In With Coral is a pale, peachy coral shade with no shimmer. This shade would look bed on medium and deep skintones.
510 Red Essential is a beautiful deep, cool toned, dusty red with no shimmer and my FAVOURITE out of the range. It’s one of my all-time favourite reds and would flatter all skintones.
520 Light It Up is a bright, neutral red with no shimmer. This shade was slightly more sheer and glossy than the others in the range and did sometimes have a tendency to apply unevenly. This shade would flatter every skintone, especially medium to deep.
630 Nude Perfection is a pale, yellow based nude shade with no shimmer. I personally found this shade unflattering on my fair skintone, but it could look good on those with a slightly darker skintone.
