Back to the Basics: Eyeliner
An Eyeliner is a powder, pencil, cream, liquid or gel product designed to help add definition to the eyes and lashes.
Eyeliners come in many different formulas including powders, pencils, creams, liquids and gels all of which can produce various different designs. Whether you choose to use powder, pencil, liquid or gel is entirely up to you. (see a wrap up of all the different formulas in this post: Powder, Pencil, Liquid or Gel Eyeliner?)
Many Eyeliners come with an applicator of their own, but for powder, cream and gel eyeliners brushes such as flat brushes, precision brushes and angled brushes can be used.
There are many different coloured Eyeliners all of which can produce different effects. Popular ones include: Black, Brown, Navy and Nude.
The purpose of Eyeliner is to define your eyes, sometimes making them look larger and make the lashes look thicker. It is NOT designed to:
- Fill in the eyebrows
- Be used as a lip liner
