Makeup Products for Beginners & Teenagers
BB Cream
It’s always best to start with a good base to even out your complexion. BB Creams and Tinted Moisturisers are best for beginners but if you’re someone with many skin concerns a light foundation would be your best bet.
Try: Missha Skin Perfect BB Cream
Concealer
Concealer is always a good thing to have in your makeup bag whether it be a hint of concealer underneath your eyes to brighten or a dab on a nasty pimple, if you’re having a bad skin day a concealer is a must have. Apply with a synthetic brush and then blend by using a patting motion.
Try: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Highlighter
A shimmery highlighter serves more than one purpose in your makeup bag. Apply it on the highest points of your face to brighten, on your eyelid as an eyeshadow or on the center of your lips to add dimension to your lipstick.
Try: ELF Studio Baked Highlighter
Eyeshadow Palette
Eyeshadow is not necessarily something you have to bother with everyday but for those times when you want to jazz up your makeup a little more it is a great thing to have. If you can it’s also a great idea to get yourself an eyeshadow primer, it will make your eye makeup last longer and make your eyeshadow appear brighter and easier to blend. I love ELF Essential Eyelid Primer
Try: Wet n Wild Color Icon Trio, ELF Essential Eyelid Primer.
Eyeliner
A good dark brown eyeliner is a makeup essential. Use it to line your upper & lower lashlines to give some definition, or wiggle it in-between your lashes to tightline them & make lashes appear thicker. One of my favourite uses for eyeliner (which is great for beginners) is to messily apply some to the eyelid and smudge it out with the fingertips for a quick, long lasting cream eyeshadow.

Clear Mascara
A clear mascara is such as a basic product but a great one too have. Wiggle some through your lashes to make them appear longer and brush it through your brows to quickly and easily groom them into place.
Try: Maybelline Great Lash Clear
Eyebrow Powder
Eyebrows frame the face and whilst a brow gel is perfectly fine to use on its own a brow powder will help to further define your brows & make them look thicker. Brow powders are generally better for beginners as they are easier to blend and give a softer finish (plus they can double up as eyeshadow)
Try: Essence Eyebrow Stylist Kit
Lipstick
A pink lipstick is an essential makeup item that should be in everyone’s makeup bag. Use it on your lips to add a pop of colour or use it as a cream blush by applying it onto your cheeks for a natural flush.
Try: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
