Back to the basics: Eye Primer
An eye primer is a cream or liquid product designed to help improve eyeshadow and eyeliner application, colour and longevity.
Eye Primers come in both white and tinted versions, but become transparent once applied to the eyelid which makes them suitable for all skintones. Eye Primers are for the most part suitable for all skintypes, but those with mature eyelids might find they enhance lines.
Eye Primers should be applied onto clean, dry eyelids before the application of any eyeshadow (cream, powder or liquid) or eyeliner (cream, gel, liquid, pencil or powder)
The purpose of an eye primer is to help your eyeshadow last longer without creasing and/or fading, help your eyeliner last longer without fading, smudging or smearing, help colours appear more intense and make eyeshadow and eyeliner apply easily and smoothly. Eye Primers are not designed to:
- be used on the waterline or tightline
- be used on the lashes as a lash primer
- completely prevent creasing, fading, smudging and smearing
- keep eye makeup on overnight or for days on end
- make your eye makeup waterproof
