Wander Beauty is one of those brands I’ve always been incredibly curious (and in the interest of sounding corny, I’ve wondered about the quality and performance of their products) A luxury brand stocked at Sephora and Net-A-Porter my hopes for this brand were high, but I can easily say without a doubt it is one of the worst brands I’ve tried.

Wander Beauty Eyes on The Fly Dual Cream Eyeshadow and Eyeliner
This product is a dual eye makeup stick with a cream eyeshadow on one end and an eyeliner on the other. The cream eyeshadow has a good texture (although it can feel a little sticky) when applied directly to the eyelids this shadow has great pigment, but subsides once blended out. The staying power is decent, but the sligthly sticky texture means it can crease after a few hours wear. As for the eyeliner, everything about this product was wrong. It all started with the thick, blunt tip (this is one of the thickest pencil eyeliners I’ve tried) which made it near impossible to get a nice small and even line. It ended with product smearing and gravitating around my face so much that my only option was to intentionally smudge out the eyeliner into a winged shape if I wanted it to look semi decent rather than super tired.
Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume & Curl Mascara
At first this mascara was great, but as I continued to use it, it got worse and worse. After just a few weeks of use, trying to layer this mascara just resulted in a clumpy mess and spider like lashes, the formula became prone to flaking and smudging, so I could not imagine keeping it for the recommended six months. Worst of all this mascara irritated my eyes like no product ever had before. I’ve tried a lot of mascaras, but none have ever made me want to scratch my eyeballs out because my eyes were so damn itchy.
Wander Beauty Micro Brow Pencil
Brows are one of the most important aspects of makeup, and believe it or not, this product actually does a good job. Would I rush out to purchase it again? Probably not, but this pencil has a decent texture and is very much reminiscent of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil. The pencil has decent staying power and does a good job at filling in the brows and getting into the smallest gaps in-between brow hairs. It has a relatively neutral tone, not leaning particularly warm or cool.
Wander Beauty On The Glow Bronzer & Illuminator Duo
One of Wander Beauty’s more popular products, this was one I was very excited to try. The On The Glow duo contains a “bronzer” on one side of the stick which the brand recommends to define and sculpt. The colour of the bronzer actually isn’t terrible, it’s relatively cool toned, but that’s about it. In terms of formula this product was another huge disappointment. Drawing it onto the skin this product had a very waxy texture that accentuated any and all peach fuzz and looked greasy on the skin. Although a cream it was also difficult to blend so buffing it consistently was necessary, but it was near impossible to get it to look natural on the skin. The highlighter shade was made of the same waxy formula and did not sit well on the skin, it looked heavy, greasy and unnatural. The colour was also far too golden for anyone with a light skintone to use and in my eyes would only flatter those with a medium to deep skintone (despite being the lighter duo)
Wander Beauty Carryon Lip and Cheek Gel
Described as a lip and cheek gel, this is actually a really gorgeous dual use product. The formula is smooth, light and very gel-like, it is easy to blend over the cheeks and isn’t overly pigmented meaning anyone could use it without looking clownish. As a lipstick this looks very beautiful and natural on the lips and has a soft sheen to it making the lips look hydrated, but the formula can sometimes dry out the lips.
Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipstick
Wander Beauty’s lipsticks are another product that many people love from them, and although I don’t hate them, I certainly don’t love them. These lipsticks come in sets of two and contain a neutral and bold shade, taking you from day to night. In terms of pigmentation these are a hit and miss style product, barely there doesn’t have incredible pigment, but does make a difference to the lips, whilst Wanderberry has beautiful, intense, vivid pigment. Like a lot of other products in the range these lipsticks did have a slightly waxy consistency. The finish is semi-matte, but I feel it can make the lips look drier than they are. In conjunction with looking dry I also found these lipsticks had a tendency to dry out my lips.
All in all I’m not a fan of Wander Beauty and I highly doubt I’ll try anything from them again in the future. I found the products sat funny on the skin and looked and felt waxy.
