I have a question what's the difference between a $1 eyelash curler and a $20 one ?

Eyelash curlers can seem like a waste of time (and money) for multiple people and it is all to easy to either skip the step completely or go for the cheapest one on the market, but spending a little extra can give you some great results.

Whilst expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better (there are some decent, affordable lash curlers out there, try looking to Korean and Japanese brands, as these are often targeted towards people with straight lashes) they are often a lot better made and the cushions tend to be softer and hold a more effective curl. Price isn’t a huge factor, it is more about finding an eyelash curler that best suits and fits your eye shape and works well for you. My favourites include:

Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler

The Shu Uemura Eyelash curler is one of, if not the most popular eyelash curler on the market. I’ve loved this one for many years and it works well. The shape of this lash curler means it tends to work better on more round eye shapes and smaller eyes (like those with monolids)

Tarte Eyelash Curler

Tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler

If you’ve got a longer, more elongated eye shape like almond eyes or hooded eyes this lash curler is my top pick, it’s a little wider than other lash curlers which means it catches each lash and really lifts the eye. With a wider eye shape it can sometimes be difficult to find a lash curler that fits (meaning you have to repeat your curl several times which is not great for your lashes) but this one does the trick.

As you can see, my favourite eyelash curlers are the more expensive ones but if you’re on a budget I don’t mind the Tweezerman Lash Curler or any of the Sephora Collection ones (Maybelline and brands alike tend to do terrible lash curlers)
