They’re Real Big Sexy Lip Kits are a new addition to the Benefit They’re Real range. The Big Sexy Lip Kit is a preview of the new range containing 4x minis of the new lipsticks to be launched in 2017. These lipsticks have an angled applicator that contain a section of lip colour and a tiny strip of a similar colour, but darker. You apply the product straight from the tube with the darker colour facing your lip line and the colour on the centre of your lips. They’re a little gimmicky (in true Benefit fashion), but I’ve got to say although there isn’t a major difference as opposed to regular lipsticks these do work a little. If you can’t be bothered defining your lip shape with a lip liner the angle of these lipsticks combined with the darker shade does make a subtle difference to the shape of your lips. The two shades morph together and as a result you don’t end up with a harsh lip line. As for the actual lipsticks these apply super glossy and creamy, but set down to a very odd finish, they’re not necessarily glossy, but they’re not quite matte either, yet I feel the finish of these makes the lips look dry, which is a real shame. If you have any kind of dryness on your lips or intense lip lines these lipsticks will emphasize them, not as much as some other lipsticks I’ve tried, but still a noticeable amount. The staying power is OK, but it’s nothing to boast about and reapplying is something that you will still need to do throughout the day. Overall these won’t give you the traditional lip liner effect (nor the staying power) but for something different, they’re pretty cool. I think they still need a little work, but I’d love to see other brands adapt this style of product.

Flame Game is a gorgeous warm orange, it’s bright, but not particularly an “in your face” shade. The darker lip liner shade makes a subtle difference in outlining the lips. This shade would flatter most skintones, particular dark skin.
Pink Thrills is a dusty rose pink, I love this shade and it is perhaps my favourite out of the range. The lip liner on this one looks significantly darker than the lipstick with this one, but doesn’t show up intensely on the lips. This shade would suit lighter skintones best.
Revved-Up Red is a muted down rosy red, hardly “revved-up” The lip liner worked better with this shade and helped to define my lip shape. This shade would suit all skintones.
Lusty Rose is a pink based nude which would be a beautiful shade on those with a fair or porcelain skintone. The lip liner shade didn’t do much for the shape of my lips, but the colour itself is lovely.
