How to Use NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is one of my all-time favourite concealers, it gives great coverage, blends beautifully and looks natural on the skin, but a lot of people use certain techniques with the product which means they don’t get the most effective and attractive results out of the product.

How to use NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Pale Skin, Chantilly

DO: Apply In a Dotting Motion

When it comes to makeup it’s tempting to take the easy way out but it’s more effective to take a little time applying a few small dots of product and slowly building up your coverage until you get your desired effect. Applying it this way will mean the product is less likely to crease and will look more natural and seamless on the skin.

DON’T: Apply in One Quick Sweep

A common thing many people tend to do with this concealer its take the wand of the applicator and sweep it directly under the eye area, this tends to apply more product than needed (often causing the concealer to crease) and can look cakey and unnatural on the skin. If you need a lot of coverage it’s best to use a corrector instead of piling on lots of concealer.

DON’T: Use It On Pimples

When it comes to pimples and breakouts the first urge we often get is to grab a full coverage concealer and immediately cover it. Whilst NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is full coverage it shouldn’t necessarily be used on pimples. One of the first rules in makeup is that anything light reflecting and radiant should be kept far away from pimples as it will draw light and attention to the area. Creamy products should also be avoided because they have difficulty gripping to breakouts and staying put. Instead you should opt for a concealer with a thick or wavy consistency that drys down for a matte finish, I likeMAC Pro-Longwear Concealer and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage.
