WORTH THE HYPE: Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara
When it comes to mascara I like my product to either provide me with super long, amazing lashes that would make false lashes jealous or give me beautiful soft, fluttery lashes. This mascara hits the sweet spot, it gives me beautiful long, fluttery lashes, not quite false lash envy but enough so that people provide me with compliments such as “wow your natural lashes are amazing!” Although this mascara is more of a volumizing one, it doesn’t get clumpy easily and instead just gives your lashes a beautiful amount of definition to make them look thicker at the base and soft, long and fluttery and the lengths. The brush is slightly hourglass shaped which means the most product is applied to the middle lashes making your eyes look wide, bright and doe-eyed. Whilst this mascara looks great on the lashes, sadly it does lack on the long-wear front. Unfortunately this mascara can start to flake a little by the end of the day and then smudge, this isn’t a deal breaker for me but I do wish Marc Jacobs would come out with a waterproof version. All in all I think this is a great mascara, it provides good volume, length and curl to the lashes but I really wish it would stay put longer, especially given the price.
