OVER HYPED: Milani Ultrafine Felt Tip Liquid Eye Liner
Milani
Ultrafine Liquid Eyeliner, where to even begin? Milani claim that “the fine felt tip makes it easy to apply a precise line” but I beg to differ. Whilst the tip of this eyeliner is thin, it’s also extremely firm and resembles plastic more than felt which makes it difficult to get a thin, crisp and precise line, which for me is something necessary in a liquid eyeliner. This product has a really thin, water-like consistency which I’m not a fan of. The formula meant the pigmentation also failed, I had to go over the line at least five times until I could get my desired intensity. The thin formula was also slightly sticky which meant it took FOREVER to set on my eyelids, causing numerous issues such as smearing and transferring into my crease. Once it’s set however, it’s set. Milani claim this eyeliner is waterproof and I’ll at-least give them that. After removing this product with an oil based eye makeup remover, my eyelids were stained a shade of turquoise that was impossible to remove. On top of that, this eyeliner seriously irritated my eyes. Straight after application I began to feel a “burning” like sensation all over my eyelids and my eyes started to water. Maybe it was just the shade I tried (05 Sparkling Turquoise Blue) and I’d love to give Milani the benefit of the doubt that the other shades in the range don’t perform this badly. If you like this product that’s great, but I’m not a fan.
