Eyes are one of the first things people notice about you so that’s a pretty good reason to want to accentuate them… Blue eyes are striking on their own, but with these tips & techniques you can enhance their colour even further.
Use Earthy Tones
Good eye makeup is all about using the right shades for your eye colour. When it comes to blue eyes, anything warm is generally super flattering as it leans on the opposite side of the colour spectrum. Try:
Everyday Neutrals like Brown, Bronze, and Copper
Glamorous Shades like Mahogany, Topaz and Gold
Daring (but wearable) Shades like Orange, Red and Terracotta
Blend Your Shadow
Your Brown, Bronze and Copper shades are generally speaking, pretty easy to wear, just apply your eyeshadow exactly as you always do, but with different shades! Orange and red, however, can take a little more work as generally speaking they tend to look better on the lips than they do the eyes… Try incorporating just a hint of orange by dusting a shimmery orange
shade onto your eyelids, but blending it with other, more neutral shades. As for red and rusty shades? Try a smoky eye. Warm, earthy terracotta shades look especially pretty on blue eyes especially when they’re dark and smoked out. Add Some Sparkle
Shimmer and Sparkle are great ways to bring more light to your eyes and draw attention to them. Try a dark brown eyeliner with some golden shimmer to contrast the coolness of blue eyes super subtly. Try: Stila Smudge Stick in Lionfish
Coat Those Lashes
Black mascara is great,, but if you’ve got blue eyes brown is even better. Try switching it up by using a brown mascara (bonus if it has shimmer in it) the look is softer and does a great job at really enhancing the colour of blue eyes. Try: *Benefit They’re Real Mascara in Brown
