Rimmel Colour Rush Intense Colour Balms are yet another lip “crayon” that’s a cross between a gloss/lipstick/stain/balm. In comparison to some of the other lip crayons on the market I really love these, they add a healthy shine to the lips, but aren’t overly glossy. They aren’t necessarily hydrating, but they do feel comfortable and silky on the lips so I can definitely see where the “balm” aspect comes from. These did not dry out my lips or accentuate dry patches, which is something very important to me in lip products. In terms of pigmentation these aren’t bad, but they aren’t great either, but as they are marketed as more of a tinted balm than a lipstick that is what I would expect. The staying power of these is fantastic, whilst the balm aspect seems to disappear within an hour or two these lip crayons leave an even stain of colour on the lips, but I will state that the difficulty I had with removing these left my lips extremely sore and irritated. The shade range could definitely be improved, whilst there isn’t really any “duds” in the range, there are only six shades available on the Australian market and I’m a little disappointed there weren’t any intense orange shades or bright fuchsias included, however other countries are slowly introducing more shades to the range. Overall I think these are nice, not great, but nice. They feel comfortable to wear and look nice on the lips and I think they are a lot better than some of the other lip crayons on the drugstore market.

100 Give Me a Cuddle is a pale candy pink shade with no shimmer, it would look especially pretty on light skintones.
200 Keep Mauving is a sheer cool toned mauve shade with no shimmer, it would suit light to medium skintones.
220 Rumour Has is a berry pink shade with no shimmer. It would flatter medium skintones best.
500 The Redder The Better is a bright red shade with neutral undertones. It has no shimmer and would compliment all skintones. This shade was the most pigmented shade out of the range and had a much creamier consistency than the others.
600 On Fire is a watermelon coral red shade with no shimmer and my favourite shade out of the range. It would compliment lighter skintones best.
710 Drive Me Nude is a sheer honey pink nude shade with a tiny amount of fine shimmer. This shade is a “my lips but better shade” and as it is quite sheer may look different on other skintones.
