Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Sticks 10 Couture Blush, 15 Vibrant Pink, 30 Designer Blossom, 35 Passionate Red, 45 Intense Plum, 50 Hot Chocolate
Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Sticks are *another* lip product of the crayon variety. Like many lip crayons on the market they are a “hybrid” kind of product, these are a lip liner and glossy lip colour in one. These lip crayons aren’t the best ones I’ve tried, but considering the price (only $10 in Australia) they aren’t a bad buy. In terms of for quality the pigmentation and evenness of application is a bit of a hit or miss and longevity isn’t one of the strong points. These lip crayons do have a tendency to bleed, feather, seep into lip lines and cling onto dry patches of the lips (although they aren’t drying) The scent of these isn’t amazing, but they don’t make you think of plastic or dishwashing detergent so that’s a plus. Overall, I think these are okay, they could be better, but they could be worse, if you love some of the shades or just wanted to try a lip crayon then this would be good for you.
Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick Swatches 10 Couture Blush, 15 Vibrant Pink, 30 Designer Blossom, 35 Passionate Red, 45 Intense Plum, 50 Hot Chocolate
10 Couture Blush is a cool toned, pale pink shade with no shimmer. This shade is a great, everyday pink that would best suit lighter skintones, it has okay pigmentation and applies pretty evenly.
15 Vibrant Pink is a gorgeous cool toned, super bright, barbie pink shade with no shimmer. This shade is my favourite out of the range as it has the best pigmentation out of all the shades and applies very evenly. This shade would look beautiful on the fairest of fair skin and the darkest of dark skin but could look a little funny on someone with medium skin.
30 Designer Blossom is a sheer warm orange red shade with no shimmer. This shade was one of the sheer ones and did have a tendency to apply unevenly, would suit lighter skintones best.
35 Passionate Red is a medium/deep shimmery, rich red shade which contains golden shimmer and is very holiday appropriate. This shade had average pigmentation and applied okay. Would suit all skintones.
45 Intense Plum is a deep, intense plum shade with purple shimmer. This shade was the most uneven in terms of application, had the poorest staying power, not to mention it looked and felt heavy/greasy on the lips.
50 Hot Chocolate is a very sheer, bronze shade with golden shimmer. This shade is extremely sheer (to the point I would call it a sheer gloss or tinted lip balm) but it does look especially pretty and summery and would be nice on all skintones for a sheer makeup day.
