Five Tips for Smoky Eyes
Smoky eyes are one of the most
classic makeup looks, and there’s a good reason why; sultry, defining
and mesmerizing, they’re perfect for adding drama and definition to the
eyes.
- Start off by applying translucent powder onto your eyelids (or on top of an eye primer) to create a smooth, blendable base for your eyeshadow.
- Think of a smoky eye just like smoke! It should start off thick and dark at the base of the lashes and soften to a lighter haze towards the eyebrows.
- A fluffy blending brush dipped in translucent powder is your best friend for eliminating harsh lines.
- Opt for a lengthening mascara over a thickening formula. The darkness of the shadow will already provide some thickening, so a formula with lengthening ability is necessary if you wish enhance the lashes.
- If you struggle with blending opt for cream based shadows as opposed to powders.
