Easy Sunday Brunch Makeup Look
When it comes to makeup on the weekends, it is great to try something a little different, like a sparkly eye or a gorgeous red lip, especially if it is something you can’t get away with at school or the office, but sometimes you may prefer just to keep it simple. This makeup look is great for the weekends, brunch, and hanging out with your girlfriends it is glowy, understated and natural looking but still enhances your best features. Only the smallest amount of product (product, not products) is required to keep it looking soft and simple.
FACE
First prep your skin with a good, hydrating primer I like the Marc Jacobs Undercover Coconut Water Face Primer because we will be using a hydrating foundation we don’t want to overload the skin with a serum, moisturiser and a primer, this product can can act as both a moisturiser and a primer because it is so hydrating, making it a great 2 in 1 product.
Some people prefer no foundation on the skin but I think everyone should use some sort of a base. I like TheBalm Balm Shelter Tinted Moisutriser because it blends easily, has a shade light enough for porcelain skin and contains SPF.
Next up it is time to conceal any imperfections, I take the Crop Natural Concealer Pencil, just “draw” the product on to any areas where additional coverage is needed such as under the eyes, on a pimple or over redness. Once applied just take (clean) fingertips and blend out with a patting motion
Contouring isn’t something you need a lot of it and you certainly don’t need to restructure your entire face with it, but a little can really help to enhance your natural features. Apply a small amount of cream contour underneath your cheekbones and blend out with a flat top kabuki brush, if desired you can use whatever is left on the brush around your hairline I used
MAC Studio QuikTrik Stick Radiance/Shadow.
To highlight just apply the product directly onto the tops of the cheekbones, the cupids bow and tip of the brow and blend it out with your fingertips. I used the MAC Studio QuikTrik Stick Radiance/Shadow.
To add a little more warmth and glow to the face it is time to use blush. Apply a small amount of cream directly onto a flat top kabuki brush then vigorously tap off any excess onto the back of your hand before gently applying it onto the cheeks for a subtle glow. I used the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge For Lips and Cheeks in the shade Desert Rose
EYES
For the eyes I like to use cream eyeshadows because they are easy to blend and when done right can look really beautiful. Apply a shimmery champagne shade onto the eyelid and then apply a darker shade onto the outer corner of the eye and blend out with your fingertips or a brush, I like to take the darker shade along the lower lashline to make the eyes look larger. I used Mally Beauty Age Rebel Eyeshadow Sticks: Sugar & Burnished Violet
It is not necessary, but I like to add a small amount of eyeliner just to give the eyes a touch more definition. I recommend applying a dark brown eyeliner just to the outer corner of the eye and blending it outwards with a brush just to give the eyes a little more lift. I used Smashbox Always Sharp Eyeliner Sumatura
Apply a couple of coats of mascara (I used Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara)
Fill in your brows! The most important part of ANY makeup look is to ensure that your brows are well groomed and polished. Take your preferred brow product, (I used Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil) and fill in your brows a usual.
LIPS
Finish off the look by adding some colour to the lips. I like to use a berry shade because it can look natural but doesn’t wash out the complexion, in this case I used the Giorgio Armani Rouge D'Armani Sheer in the shade 605. Although these lipsticks have a sheer formula I like to pat them into the lips to make them look a little more lived in.
