I’m Judge Makeup Tips and I’m about to bust you for believing one of the biggest beauty myth’s out; you now have the right to purchase a bronzer.
"Why is your foundation so light? Why don’t you go darker, it will make you look more bronzed" she said. There’s often a bit of confusion as to what foundation actually is. Foundation is designed to even out your skin tone, cover any minor imperfections and create a base for the rest of your makeup.
Foundation is not designed to change the colour of your natural skin tone (tanner is for that, in which case St Tropez make a mean tanner!) Your foundation should match the colour of your body (otherwise it will be too light or too dark and a too dark foundation looks orange) and should be blended well so that it isn’t obvious. If you want a bronzed look apply a bronzing primer before your foundation (I like Smashbox Photo Finish Luminzing Foundation Primer which has just a hint of bronze to make skin look healthy) or use a bronzer such as Benefit Hoola or *Bobbi Brown All Over Bronzing Gel.
BEAUTY MYTH: BUSTED! You shouldn’t be using foundation to make you look more bronzed, use a self tanner and bronzer instead! Case dismissed.
